Celebrating Women In Tech on International Women’s Day 2021
While the role women play in tech should be celebrated everyday, International Women’s Day provides an opportunity for reflection.
At Cureoscity, we’re proud to have a diverse and inclusive workforce with a gender split of 53% male/47% female but understand there is more work to do within the tech industry to achieve this balance on a wider scale.
This year’s #IWD2021 theme is #ChooseToChallenge. A challenged world is an alert world and individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day.
We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
That’s why this year, we are pledging to support the work of Code First Girls who are dedicated to transforming tech by providing the skills, space and inspiration for women to become kick-ass developers and future leaders.
The London based charity has a community of over 20k women, with over 50 active University programmes and 53% BAME membership so they stand by their mission to help women rewrite their future.
In the words of Michelle Obama, “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.”
Through the power of community, change can and will happen.
